This email will acknowledge completion of your public records request dated May 4, 2017 (Request #17-1929) and received by my office soon after. Request #17-1929 sought to inspect the following records:
This is a formal request under the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act. I wish to inspect the following, in their native electronic format if possible:
1. All reports, whether investigate, incident or otherwise named, in the Jorge Ortega case, DOB 3-2-1987 case. The victim is Jayden Dayea.

The district court case number is: D-202-CR-2016-809
The defendant has already taken a plea and sentencing is set for 5-12-2017.
2. All recordings (audio, video and audio/video) compiled in the above-mentioned case, including but not limited to 911 calls, jail calls and interviews.
3. All witness statements in the above-mentioned case.
4. All autopsy reports in the above-mentioned case.

My office reviewed a voluminous amount of records, and we now have the responsive non-exempt public records available for your inspection. The non-exempt records can be inspected at the Office of the City Clerk, located at 600 2nd Street NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102. That office is located on the 7th floor of that building. Please contact my office to let us know when you anticipate coming to Albuquerque to inspect the non-exempt public records, then we will ensure the records are brought to the Office of the City Clerk on the specified date.

Finally, we cannot permit inspection of some of the records and some of the information contained in the records because they are exempt from disclosure under IPRA, NMSA 1978, § 14-2-1(A)(1) (records pertaining to physical or mental examinations); § 14-2-1A)(4) (confidential law enforcement records); § 14-2-1(A)(8) (otherwise provided by law), including, but not limited to: NMSA 1978, § 32A-4-1 et. seq. (Abuse and Neglect Act); NMSA 1978, § 32A-4-1 et. seq. (Victim’s Rights); and NM Const. Art. II, § 24 (Rights of Crime Victims).
