This letter is to serve as a request to inspect public documents contained in your records pursuant to NMSA 1978 §§ 14-2-1 et seq. 

KOB-TV, based in Albuquerque, NM, is requesting the 911 call recordings between dispatch and officers responding to an incident at Friedman Recycling (5029 Edith Blvd NE) sometime between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. on April 18, 2018.

If this request is denied in part or in whole, please notify me immediately and be prepared to cite which statutes allow the exemption(s).  KOB-TV’s legal team will review all citations you provide. 

Please be advised that KOB-TV deems the withholding of public documents a very serious matter and may litigate if required to do so. In this regard, KOB-TV would seek reimbursement of attorneys’ fees and other litigation costs.

During our search, my unit (APD IPRA) discovered the investigation is being handled by the Albuquerque Fire Department.  All other material is also with the Albuquerque Fire Department.  For your convenience, I have included the individual to contact at AFD.
